I just built myself a new system. . . it's the lower one. . . but didn't install a floppy on it(won't have one for a while). How do I convince Win98 that there is no floppy drive? 2000 and Whistler had no probs.

Windows 2K will dump my NIC for no apparent reason. I will turn on the comp and then it will be gone. When I restart it will show up again. And so on and so on. When I try to load the drivers from windows it says that it cant find them.

We all know by now, that the 7. 17 Det drivers for Win2K ARE DX8 compatable. But now a newer 6. 62 driver (with a more recent file date) is out, and is even WHQL certified. Is this also DX8 aware too? Anyone try them? Cause I am having a lot of hesitation in Mechwarrior 4 and wonder if it might be the video drivers ...

I recently installed Windows 2000 Pro on my friends computer. I went to make a dial-up account and i got all the way through the process of typing in phone numbers and crap. . but then at the very end it says the name i wnat to type in is invalid.

Ok I have tried to install Windows 2000 on my Dad's computer and everytime it installs in say Disk I/O Error now what the heck does this mean? I can install windows 95, 98, and ME no problem on his computer, but windows 2000 just won't do it.

Well the box says Win2000 compatible. I installed the game and it just stutters like crazy. One second framerate is 0 the other second it's 66FPS. My system specs are: AMD Athlon 750 256MB of Ram Asus K7M Motherboard Elsa Gladiac GF2 with WHQL 6.

Hi peeps I have the Unreal Tournament G. O. T. Y. edition and I cannot get it to start up under Win2k PRO (all compatability updates installed, DX7. 0a). When I run the game it starts to load and then bombs out with the error:- Ran out of virtual memory, Please free up some space on your primary hard drive.

Well is it? Bill Gates and countless other have deemed the PC dead. Goning on to say that internet appliances/all-in-one's are the wave of the future. What are your Opinions on this? Personally, i find it a great accomplishment to put together a PC from scratch that i have worked on and planned for.

I only has 1 PCI slot left and that PCI slot shares IRQ with my Promise raid card, I tried the 3COM 900B and Aopen ALN-201 both won't work, anyone know of a brand of NIC that can share IRQ?

I have a question on setting up Two Operating systems. From a Base 30 Gig drive should i partition it in 2 or should i partition 2 6 gig partitions for the os's and the rest for programs? Also why do you need seperate partitions for each operating system what problems could i have?.
