Why wast your money

Can anyone tell me why a person would pay all that extra money to up grade from a 933 prossessor to a 1 gig. Is there any differance in speed, I don't think so. And why spend the extra for the 1. 5gig when you can save the money and by the 1.

I have Windows 2000 Professional and am running WinFax TalkWorks Pro 3. 0, but I cannot locate a voice modem which is compatible with Windows 2000. I had no problems with Windows 98 and an earlier version of WinFax, but upgrading has meant my computer cannot answer my phone.

The Via 2. 8 and 2. 9 4in1 drivers were known to cause similar problems. Upgrade of the specific components is possible after proper removal. Check also AMD patches. .

weird texture grid at 16 bit? (GeForce 2)

ok. . . i noticed something when playing Undying the other day. . . there is this weird grid of textures that is always on my screen when in this game and at 16 bit. . . you can see it best when you walk up to a dark, smooth surface, like a shadow.

I am thinking of jumping on the AMD bandwagon any day now. Is there a difference between an unlocked 1. 2 Tbird running at multiplier of 9, 133 fsb and the new Tbirds made to run at 133 fsb? Is there any reason to get one over the other? Also, any suggestions about putting a new tbird rig together would be welcome.

I've got an early SB128 with what i believe is the es1370 chipset. I have tried several times to update the drivers by installing the latest (Version 2. 4, June 2000 filenames: sbapw2k. lib and sbaudiosetupus.

ok here's my problem, I'm trying to put in some standard pci cards, such as a linksys ethernet card, usb addin card, etc, and they work perfectly ok in Windows ME. however if I try to dual boot into Windows 2000, it freezes at the point ntdetect.

Okay, how much of a performance gain are we talking between a 7200rpm and a 5400 rpm ata100 hard drive. I play Half-life and UT as the main things that really tax my system at all. Is a 7200rpm really gonna be a major contributor to this stuff like video editing or what?.

Windows see's the joystick and it works but when i go to test/check out the force feed it doesn't work. I have all the updates for the via chipset using a usb port. so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Geforce 2 Ultra - Overclocking???

I would like to know if anyone has had any luck overclocking there GF2 Ultra card and having the settings stay after they reboot. Seems that no matter what program I use to overclock my Elsa Geforce 2 Ultra card the settings will just not stay after I reboot.
