Why does my THPS2 crashes ?

I had a patch so that THPS2 could work, and it did. But why does it crashes when I'm playing ? Sometimes it resists many minutes without any crash.
I have W2K, AMD ThunderBird 900 MHz, and a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64.
Can anybody solve this ?
