Hello, i am looking for a new laptop, i have found some in the range of £750-£850 and some have tft screens which i know about and have seen them, but i am wondering what dstn screens look like. Are they as good a tft? better? Many thanks.

Maxtor 60GB shows up as 30 in Win2k

I don't know if it's the jumper configuration that I have for this new 60GB drive (only came with one), but I can't seem to get Win2k to recognize the HD as a 60GB. After screwing around with the MaxBlast software and BIOS, I was able to get BIOS to recognize the drive as a 60GB, but still no go with the OS.

Is there any way to fix this. Can one of you official testers send something in about this please. I have dual monitors and the only way to get 2 diff backgrounds is by making an HTML document. The problem is when i set it as my backgroung there is a crusty outline on all the desktop icons.

is there any way to connect two windows xp's computers? I've tried to share a folder in one of theme and conncet to this folder from the other computer with workgroup_name\user_name and with user_name@workgroup_name and it's not working! it says that the password or user name are not accepted.

Problems with Win2000's CD player

Lo folks, I've got a problem with win2000's music CD player. It was downloading the tracknames (playlist things) up untill a few days ago when it suddenly stopped. Now no matter what I do It just keeps saying album not found.

I've tried for awhile, no go, GTS card, nvidia drivers 11. 01 tried a few diff ones, and editing the registry entrires, and nothign I can do will fix it, has anyone got their refresh rates fixed in games in beta 2 with a nvidia card?? If so please post how and which drivers your using.

the problems with Voodoo3 cards that the other betas had? The drivers released from 3dfx didn't load before. While this may be a driver problem and/or a 3dfx problem it seems to me that forcing a rewrite on drivers every time a new system comes out is poor quality control and a lack of vision.

I'm having a little problem installing this under WinXP. I know Symantec admitted an incompatibility with the symevent file. The official instructions on the Symantec page only really mention AV 2000 & 2001, however I assumed the fix would be the same.

Should I install the VIA 4in1 drivers in WinXP beta2? Or atleast the AGP driver. Its often nasty if the OS don't like the VIA drivers. But my performance in games is not 100%, more like 80% maybe the AGP driver can help.

Hi, After some minutes my computer hangs. Only a hard reset solves the problem. The Problem occurs with the following games: Deus Ex, Unreal Tournament and No One Lives Forever. I've the newest patches for all the games.
