I have been reading through the newsgroups and it seems that many Windows 2000 users share the same problem as me. Occasionally, (more than less), a message pops up on the screen telling me that the memory could not be read or written.

Win2K Dial-Up password problem - help needed.

I have four dial-up connections setup on my system. When I today tried to connect to one of them I recieved an error Invalid User name and password, this happens when this particular ISP is busy and I have to click on Connect again.

Office xp and bloacking access in outlook

Im using Office Xp and when i try to open an attackment with. exe Outlook blocks access to it and it says I cant change level 1 access, does anyone know how to fix this?.

Im trying to automate more tasks, but lots of times I need to set some flags to do certain things or what not. Does anyone know where I could find a comprehensive (psuedo-'man pages') for command line params for windows tools? More specifically if anyone has info on defrag or disk cleanup.

Beta 2 & Starcraft

I'm having an issue with Starcraft under Beta 2. When I go in to the game, the color depth switches to what looks like 16 colors. I've tried both the standard XP 3dfx drivers and the 1. 03. 00 from 3DFX, but the same thing happens.

The first line on says 1. 07 must be installed first! Now, maybe I'm just stupid, but isn't the highest Voodoo3 driver version for Win 2000 1. 04? If you go here: you will see that the ONLY version 1.

Hi I have reinstalled SOF and Elite Force on a Fresh Copy of Win 2K after ME messed up. When i try and run either game I get a Black Screen and the PC freezes, The games used to work, just recently they haven't.

I'm having major issues with pretty much anything USB. (see specs below) When I had my USB Intellimouse plugged in to the USB port, it was very sluggish and would finally end up pulling up a BSOD with an error regarding ACPI.

I have a hp cd-writer 6020. according to hp's website the 6020 won't work because of changes made to the 2000 operating system. if any body out there has gotten the 6020 to work under 2000 I would love to hear from them.

I have installed DirectX 8. 0a on my laptop running Windows 2000. I am running an application that requires DirectX. When run, it actually runs Direct Player 6. 0 but a message saying This program needs at least 3MB of virtual memory to run.

Has anyone else encoutered problems using Netmeeting under Win2kPro? I am Ok when it starts up and conncecting to another user is also fine. It is when I disconnect, the program hangs and I can't shift it even with Ctr Alt Del and task manager.

I have Windows 2000 Server Installed on my machine. I noticed that there is no APM option. I have to sit here and wait for my computer to shut down so I can push the button to turn it off. . . Is there a registry setting i can change to enable APM.
