Viper´s Lair has put up a Windows 2000 Setup Guide Despite the fact that many of you are already running Windows 2000, you´ll be surprised how many people do not, despite their desire to. It really isn´t hard to do, and despite the constant bombardment of Windows security issues, it isn´t as bad as one may think.

Overclockers New Zealand has posted a review on Abit´s TH7-Raid I850 motherboard Abit includes an onboard diagnostic display which shows different codes in case anything goes wrong. A list of post-codes with explanations is in the user´s manual for easy reference.

C$ shares in Windows XP

I upgraded from Win2K to XP and on the machine that I upgraded C$ workds fine. I set XP on my roommates machine and C$ does not work. He can connect to mine and it prompts him to enter a username and a password.

I've got the 1008 BIOS off Asus site, but I'd like to know what all it updates besides what asus says. I've heard about it enabling raid functions and supporting newer AMD processors, but I've been unable to confirm this.

I wanna play via ipx protocol (Red Alert 2) and installed the IPX protocol then the option to play a network game was enabled but I was not able to find someone's game and others in the lan weren't too.

There's so many services running in XP and I'd bet that I (read: my system) don't use half of them. I'm just a normal user, running everyday applications. I'm no sysop - I don't do remote computing and so on.
