Can anyone recommend a good, solid card? I tried the Winfast 2000 XP model for a customer who insists on using win98. Doesn't bother me except that Leadtek's support for 9x is sad, or at least is with this card.

Someone know why the drivers of Epson Perfection 1250 photo Scanner USB locks in 2000/XP O. S. ? The Epson Assistance say to me that probably it locks because the USB drivers are not standard or because there is the AC in USB port.

Thanks to those who posted in a previous thread. I managed to sort ouy my badly behaved 1800 chip by buying a new motherboard (due to budgest restraints it was the cheapest I could get - a Gigabyte 7ZXE)- but it doesn't lock up anymore.

How to kill phantom PCI card?

Win2K keeps on finding new hardware when I start/restart my machine. I have no clue what it's looking for. In Device Manager there is a yellow exclamation mark next to: Other devices >PCI device The only cards in my machine are video (which is AGP anyway), & my Adaptec 39160 SCSI adapter.

Style XP/Unsigned skin support in SP 1?

Has anyone been able to get unsigned or Style XP skins working in XP Service pack 1, Style XP will not work on this build of windows, and I tried patching the Uxtheme. dll to noavail. So in the meantime Im stuck using *cough* Window Blinds.

Can anyone help me free up some space on my system HDD, I am using 2. 8 GB for the system files out of a 3GB disk and windows has started complaining. I presume this is because of the continual installments of service packs and the upgrade from win 2k to XP.

How can I hide or disable a printer so a child (11 year old, probably certitfied A+. . . . . . . . ) can't print to it other than removing the printer cable or disabling it in device manager (if you can)?.

Laptop fan stopped!!

I have a problem. Someone gave me a Compaq Armada 1590 DMT. I've been using it for a few days, but just realised that the fan isnt spinning (the one at the back). The laptop gets very hot under so im guessing this fan is supposed to be working.

How do i prevent certain application from running at window startup. I looked into startup folder, but it isn't there. Also, is there any utility like msconfig (in win98) that allows me to view/edit startup task without having to manually edit the registry.
