Outlook saving images as BMP ?

Somehow my Windows XP has decided that BMP is the default image format. If I receive a mail with an image contained - an animated gif for example, if I save the image I am only offered ' save as BMP '.

win98SE VPN problem

i'm trying to get a VPN connection from home working. I dial in using my network password & the ip/server address. This works just fine. But the instructions i was given show a 2nd logon, which gives me network access.

When I used to run WIN98 I could rename the Windows directory to anything I wished during installation. This option does not seem to present itself during W2K installation. Can this directory be SAFELY renamed after W2K installation? If not, why can't it be safely renamed? Thanks for your kind help & attention.

Please help. I attempted to remove windows messenger as per the instructions in th FAQ. I edited the one line (hide). But. . . windows messenger still does not show up in the add/remove components. What am I doing wrong.

I bought this card yesterday - (As it was going very cheap) and is a lot better than my old gf2mx. Anyway - I noticed as I was putting it in my pc that the onboard fan has three wires. Which suggests to me that it can read the speed of the fan.

i want to encrypt a floder so that a user with no password can have a password on just the folder that is encrypted ie when this user clicks this folder he is brougt to a password window b4 he can access the folder is this possible? If so how?

I have been using winxp since it was released and about 1 week ago when I unlock my workstation it will now take like 1 minute for the desktop to load. I will see the Desktop backround but nothing else for 1 minute.

I hope there is a simple answer anyway 8) Got an XP machine and a Windows ME laptop, netorked through an ADSL router. Both machines are using TCP/IP to see each other and share folders. On both machines I can see the other machine and it's shares.

Major problem here, i formatted my comp, and now i can no longer suspend, the command is there, but when i try it, it says preparing to stand by but instantly locks up. Im running win2k sp3, amd k7m motherboard, athlon 500.

Yo. . . Anyone know of a reg fix to RE-enable the Power Management tab of my NIC properties ? I guess once you uncheck Allow this device to bring computer out of stanby, the tab goes away for good. .

I cannot figure out how to get XP Pro to dial into a Win98 dialup Server. I can dial in an connect via two 98 boxes by just entering a password. After connecting I can browse the 98 dialup servers shared directories.

Hi, The RC1 setup can only upgrade the system when it is a server OS and says that my win2k pro is no good. I tried the following : - Use NTSwitch to transform my Win2k Pro into Win2k Server - Run RC1 setup and upgrade.
