I'm not sure if this is a VIA or Windows problem but here goes. . I've just installed XP Pro new onto my PC and was browsing away on the net listening to Winamp and suddenly my ears are filled with a high pitched scream.

I'm using the v1. 01 patch, and have played the game fine in campaign mode upto level 4. Then a strange glitch keeps occuring. The screen will change to a blaze of bright colours and make the game impossible to play.

Windows XP power managenent problem

I have a problem on win XP. When I boot power management works normaly. But after I play a game (e. g. GTA3) or use some programs the hard disks and the monitor dont turn off after 5 minutes anymore (I have set both to 5 minutes).

Installed I. E. 6 SP1 last night, uninstalled today. After installing, Outlook Express and SOME I. E. web pages would do nothing when you clicked on hyperlinks. In Outlook any email that came in with a hyperlink to a site would not work.

Hi I was thinking about buying this sound dampening fabric for the inside of my case. Has anyone tried any of these products? How much did it cut down the noise? Did it just work with the fan or HD and not the other? Could you still hear them both? Was it worth the money.

I have 2 hd's in the PC atm: Primary Master: Maxtor 30. 1Gb ATA-133 (BOOT, SYSTEM & PROGRAMS) Primary Slave: Maxtor 20. 4Gb ATA-100 (FILE STORAGE) both disks are nearly full and I'm thinking of purchasing another Maxtor 80Gb drive to replace the boot drive and use the remaining 2 as backup/storage drives.

I have. NET server and an SB Live! should I continue to use the windows drivers or should i mess with the creative drivers. I am using stereo only at this point so are there any features in creatives drivers that really warrant installing them and risking potential instability?.

.Net Enterprise Server, C-Media 8738 Chip

Motherboard (Asus P4B533-E) has intergraded 6 channel audio with the C-Media 8738 Chipset. Using the drivers for Windows XP listed on the Asus site, I cannot get sound in. Net Enterprise Server. Driver is installed fine, no bangs listed in Device Manager.

Windows XP SP1 showed up on the windows update site for. NET WTF should. NET need this? I am not exactly interested in installing it if it iz gonna hose my system or something. Also is WMP 9 cooler than 8? I am thinking i will just install this new sh1t and if it fuks I'll jsut reinstall.

Well, after XP installation I found that my Geforce 2 is perform badly in the new Luna interface, try some tweakings, stll not much improvement, I have turn off some animations and even try tweaking it to max performance setting, the 2D desktop still isnt up to the level of w9X/2k kind of speed.
