MS DOS Problem with Windows 2000

I wondered if you could help me with a little problem: I upgaded to Windows 2000 Professional ages ago but I need to use DOS to program in PASCAL for my A Level Computing course. When I try to run any DOS program I get Invalid Command.

Have a read of this: Now tell me, since this was in august. Would mobo makers have changed their designs by now? Its becuase I am looking to build myself a system, and i want a futureproof (Hyperthreading support and 3ghz+), USB 2, AGP 8X mobo with DDR-RAM.

problem with sound card

i have a dell dimension 4500. the other day, i moved the pc, when i plugged everything back, there was no sound. i checked the soundcard internally & it's plugged in fine. and all settings are fine, but there's no sound.

Removing hardware using add/remove hardware

The events were in this order: I removed 2 cards and added 1. I went into add/remove hardware (which I never used in 2k before) to delete/remove instances of these cards. Entries other than what I clicked on got removed.

i want to do this, so im going to repartition everything, but i need to know which i should install first, XP or linux? will XP be able to detect and boot linux? i know the linux loader can detect and boot windows.

No sound

Hey, when I play an audio cd, I can only here sound in windows media player, if I use winamp, or musicmatch, nothing but dead silence. The timer goes, and the slider goes like its playing but no sound.

Windows NT 4.0 can not install

When install NT system by three boot floppies. It told me that system can not access hard driver. The PC is with microstar 6330(k7T pro) mainboard, udma 66 IDE controller. Maxtor udma 66 7200 rpm 15GB hard driver.

What is the best method to speed up a network? (Config Wise)

Are there some settings that can be changed to allow information to be sent/received more quickly. Anything would be appreciated. I was told there are some MTU settings that would make a difference. We use TCP/IP and have 5 systems running Win95 for a certain DOS app, 3 systems running Win2K Pro, and one running.

seconday video card... problems

Hi there, I am having some issues attempting to get a secondary video card to work in Windows XP. I have tried several video cards that I own. My only successful card was a Voodoo 3. But I'd prefer to keep that in my other machine for LAN parties.

Does frequent ram replacing damage the ram (or the slot)

Diskeeper keeps generating DCOM errors in the event viewer

Could some plz explain to me why Diskeeper periodically leaves the following message in the event viewer: Source: DCOM Event ID: 10010 Type: Error User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM The server {80EE4901-33A8-11D1-A213-0080C88593A5} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
