This PCI card uses the ESS Allegro (ES1989) audio chipset. The front of the packaging box advertises 4-speaker sound but the Windows 2000 drivers only provide 2-channel sound (which is mentioned in the fine print disclaimer on the side of the box along with a similar disclaimer about Windows NT 4.0 drivers).
