Windows XP SP2 breaks the connectivity between a Winfax sharing client and a Winfax sharing host. Although the setup wizard on the client can find and validate a client successfully, it will fail latter on. No faxes from a Winfax sharing client machine can go out.
After uninstalling SP2 (doing a system restore), I was able to make Winfax work again. This happened with 3 client PCs (2 DELL desktops and 1 DELL laptop). The server where Winfax sharing server is located is running under Windows 2000 SP4.
