FIC PA2013. This is the best super7 mobo.
Cheap and stable.
Cheap and stable.
Sell up and get either a oldish AMD K7, or a celeron. I must admit SS7 has had its day.
Epox MVP3G5 mobo is the best SS7 mobo by far and they are still releasing revisions and BIOS updates!
Soyo SY5EMA+.
my (relatively speaking) FIC va503+ works with the following:
------------------
System Spec:
FIC VA-503+ 1.1b bios JE438
CPU Current Limiter Disabled
AMD K6-2 550 (300 when I talk to FIC tech support)
128Mb SSi PC100
STB Velocity 4400 16Mb PAL TV-Out
Hauppauge Wintv
Realtek 8029 LAN
Creative ES1371 (PCI64v)
56.6K (AkA 44k) ISA Modem
Creative 48mx CDROM
Memorex TriMaxx200(DVD/CDR/CDRW, 6,4,24)
Maxtor 91301U3 13Gb
LS120
and com and lpt i/o conflict error during bios startup.
Hardware fault caused by win2k beta3 and dodgy bios, now irrepairable.

Again, FIC PA2013.
Good side:
- extremely well built
- rock stable
- last bios dated April 8 2000
- overclockable
- can set front bus speed and memory independently
- my daughter was able to have it up and running just with the documentation, and yes, she overclocked it right away (tis the first machine she built alone - she must have inherited a few fast genes hehe )
Bad side:
- a jumper nightmare!
BTW it is the ATX version of the VA503+ which is still a very good board.

Don't listen to all those other people. Decide for yourself by reading:

I have an MSI 5169 (only rev 2 - so limited to 400mhz )It works just fine for me.

Yeah don't listen to the opinions of the people who actually OWN the product.

My 503+ is limited to 400Mhz too, but who cares? If you get the right type of K6-2, then it will work. Most of the newer 500+ ones have lower current drains, than the 400-500 CPUs due to smaller/newer cores. Try it. I've used a 450 (dead now due to experimental alterations )and it was rock solid, along with my current 550.
