Abit BP6 and ATA66

This is a discussion about Abit BP6 and ATA66 in the Windows Hardware category; I have BP6 motheboard and planning to get ATA66 HD. I heard that Abit has no drivers for the controller. Does it mean that Win2k will not be able to see the HD on the ATA66 controller? Or will it just work as a ATA33 ??????.

It means Windows 2000 will not be able to see any drives attached to the ATA66 controller as you can not load drivers for the Mass Storage Controller to enable it to recognize what is plugged in.

It just means that you may not have the specific driver for NT5 it will work just fine as long as you don't go in and screw with it once NT5 is installed. I.E. It will work!
