i recently bought an Abit HotRod 100 Pro RAID card and set up a stripe set with two 30gb IBM 75GXPs. on the motherboard hard drive channels i have a 10gb seagate drive, a pioneer dvd-rom and an iomega cd-rw.
the problem is that i cannot boot off the stripe set unless i disable the two cd-rom drives (ie. set to 'not installed') in the bios. they still get picked up in win2k but i cannot enable dma for either. if they are set up in the bios the computer hangs at the 'searching for boot record from scsi...ok' stage. i'm running the latest bios for the card and motherboard (asus k7m) and i've tried fiddling with a load of settings in the bios to try and fix the problem but with no luck. i could really do with dma being enabled for the two cd-rom drives, any ideas?
