Adress completion

This is a discussion about Adress completion in the Windows Hardware category; OK, this is not a big problem, but I really want it to be changed. In explorer 4 and win98 the adress, when you typed an internet adress in the Adress-bar explorer completed the adress for you by filling in the letters that was missing.

OK, this is not a big problem, but I really want it to be changed.
In explorer 4 and win98 the adress, when you typed an internet adress in the Adress-bar explorer completed the adress for you by filling in the letters that was missing.
Now, in explorer 5 and win2k it works different. Now the combobar scrolls down with the matching adresses.
Is there anyway to change this to the old fashion way?

Yeah, there is.

Tools, Internet Options, Advanced.

About 1/2 way down is the option "Use inline AutoComplete" - select it. You can also turn off smooth scrolling just below.

Also, about 2/3rds of the way down is a heading "Search from the address bar" - select the "Do not search from the address bar" option to stop MSN loading if you get an address wrong.

This is the first thing I do with a new install of W2K
