Age of empires 2, weird..
This is a discussion about Age of empires 2, weird.. in the Windows Games category; Hello, I just cant get Age of empires 2 to work on win2k. . . It installs normally, but when i run in, it generates an error, (you know: this application has generated an error. . . ) drops right back to desktop.

It installs normally, but when i run in, it generates an error, (you know: this application has generated an error...)
drops right back to desktop... (well drops back is wrong since it doesnt even start to load it seems.)
anybody hava a clue ?

Whether you are running a legitimate copy or not, perhaps you need to try a "patch".
Mine wouldn't work without a no-cd patch even though I have a real disk.
Now it runs perfectly as the "patch" updates the .exe with one that works.
PS - the "patch" i use didn't come from M$ but it works, so I don't care.

same here, I have the real CD, but it won't run until someone told me that I need to install the no cd patch. Now it works ok.
