Aiwa TD2000-1 Tape Drive and Win2K

This is a discussion about Aiwa TD2000-1 Tape Drive and Win2K in the Windows Hardware category; How EXACTLY does one get the drivers installed for this tape drive under Win2000. It has recognized the drive as an unknown device. . . but I have no idea where to point the thing for the driver. . .

you are probably in same boat as i am with the TD8000 series from awai, seems the inf file for the device is screwed up either ms is using wrong names or awai is reporting wrong name to bios etc, but you need to play with inf to match what hardware is reporting (mine was A8000 in the inf file (included with win2k)but was 8000-A in the inf file a simple new line addition was all it took to make it work

OP
I got it working last night...My problem was that I did not go in correctly to re-install the QIC-157 IDE driver. All seems to be working correctly now.
