AIWA TD8000 internal IDE Tape Backup
This is a discussion about AIWA TD8000 internal IDE Tape Backup in the Windows Hardware category; Greetings all don't know how many (if any of you) this will help but it seems that this tape drive aiwa td 8000 reports itself as a TD8000 to win2k through plug & play thus making it unusable as win2k is looking for it as a ATD8000 ! simple fix though just remove the A in \winnt\inf\tape.
Greetings all don't know how many (if any of you) this will help but it seems that this tape drive aiwa td 8000 reports itself as a TD8000 to win2k through plug & play thus making it unusable as win2k is looking for it as a ATD8000 ! simple fix though just remove the "A" in \winnt\inf\tape.inf from that line "%qic157.DeviceDesc% = qic157_Inst, IDE\SequentialAIWA_TD-A8000___________________________" should be changed to "%qic157.DeviceDesc% = qic157_Inst, IDE\SequentialAIWA_TD-8000___________________________"(or copy the line and remove the "a" from the duplicate) installs and works fine
