AOpen's new MX3S, USB, and video memory...

This is a discussion about AOpen's new MX3S, USB, and video memory... in the Windows Hardware category; I just bought one of these mobo's, and I'm having two problems with it. I hope someone can help. #1) If USB is enabled, Win98SE (sorry!) locks up during hardware detection during installation. If it's disabled, it installs normally.

#1) If USB is enabled, Win98SE (sorry!) locks up during hardware detection during installation. If it's disabled, it installs normally. But if I re-enable USB, Windows will lock up after it finds the USB controller, and won't even get as far as to look for drivers. Aggrivating.
#2) I just bought a 4mb AIMM video upgrade from Crucial. Since this board is based in the Intel 815E chipset with integrated graphics, the AIMM should work, but it doesn't. Before the install, video memory is reported as 512k(?), but DirectX reports it as about 5 megs, and 38Mark 2000 says it's something like 33517k! Senseless. But even after the installation of the 4mb AIMM, none of the reported memory sizes changed. There are no options in the BIOS to configure the amount of video memory, either.
I'm at a total loss, so any help from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks.
