bustmastering for IDE drives
This is a discussion about bustmastering for IDE drives in the Windows Hardware category; Hey what's up guys, just a quick question: I have a 6. 4Gb IDE HD, a Acer 32x IDE CDROM drive, and a Mitsumi CDR. In win98/se you can enable the DMA for these drives, and i believe I had them enabled.
Hey what's up guys,
just a quick question:
I have a 6.4Gb IDE HD, a Acer 32x IDE CDROM drive, and a Mitsumi CDR. In win98/se you can enable the DMA for these drives, and i believe I had them enabled. I'm having just as awesome performance from these drives in win2000 (2195) as i did back in 98, but i went to device manager there is no option to turn this on/off. Nor is there any settings like before, such as the Data Sync, Disconnect, etc.
Any idea why, or whether i should be worried?

You have to turn dma for your cd drives on under their respective controllers, in the device manager. Don't know about data sync or dissconnect. No you should'nt be worried
