wait a mintue shrink are u telling me that u got that drive to work with RC1??? I really doubt that, and there wont be any support for it for another few motnhs.

OP
Nope - couldn't get RC1 to run well at all with my mobo (BE6). Actually, I have the 4224e working after all! I just burned a cd with ez cd 4.0. the only thing that isn't working is the cdrw when trying to move/copy/delete files from within explorer. However, I can save files to the cdrw from within apps. go figure, huh?

ur kidding?!?!?!? I just bought the 4224e and now Im returning it I jsut ordered a RMA number.
I have NO expereicne with CDRW's. Please explain it to me buddy.
It loads up as a cd in my explorer but I thought I needed special drivers to make it work under any OS. I tried the NT drivers but they didnt work with win2000. Iv got NERO which came with the drive. So how do I go about making a copy?

OP
Well, I loaded the drivers that came on the disk from creative. Then I installed Adaptec EZCD 4.0 and DirectCD 2.5D with the update. I made sure DMA was enabled under device manager/ide controllers and the rest is history.
