CDRW disappeared!

This is a discussion about CDRW disappeared! in the Windows Hardware category; I had my Yamaha 4416S working fine for serveral moths under win2k, then I installed C++ and rebooted an dthe drive diapeared! Windows says it can't find it and I know it's working because I can see it during the boot sequence.
