Choppy sound in games !
This is a discussion about Choppy sound in games ! in the Windows Hardware category; Well, have dl'ed the latest offering from Creative (LW3 - in case you didn't know), hoping it would stop all the stupid sounds and feedback I get in motocross madness II, Deus Ex, etc. . Well, it doesn't, I am starting to think it may be the soundcard.

Anyone else get this annoying feature?
It sounds sometimes as if the sound is trying to catch up with the game.

Its probably the ACPI and SMP that are doing it. If your using ACPI and have your IRQs sharing then you should disable it. You can find instructions by searchin the forum. It involves changing your computer type to standard.
