Commandos: BCD and Win2K
This is a discussion about Commandos: BCD and Win2K in the Windows Games category; Has anyone managed to get Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty working on Win2K? I've tried: *Installing on Win9x and then copying the registry entries across to Win2K. No good. *Using APCOMPAT. EXE. It keeps telling me that I have a debugger running and that I must close it first.
Has anyone managed to get Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty working on Win2K? I've tried:
*Installing on Win9x and then copying the registry entries across to Win2K. No good.
*Using APCOMPAT.EXE. It keeps telling me that I have a debugger running and that I must close it first. There is no debugger running as far as I'm aware.
*Using SETWIN95.CMD. When I try to run the program after using setwin95, I get an illegal memory allocation error (or something equally nasty).
Any ideas?

download the compatibility update for win2k:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/deployment/appcompat/default.asp
Maybe it will work.

OP
Nah, it only fixes Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. Actually, I've managed to get it working - sort of. I found some new executables at GameCopyWorld (I think), that have the copy protection scheme removed, and these seem to work under 2000, although it tends to crash in various ways every 20 minutes or so. Better than nothing for now, though!
