Commandos under Win2K
This is a discussion about Commandos under Win2K in the Windows Games category; Can anyone get either Commandos game to run completely under 2000? I've tried running Commandos off the CD, and copying the files to my hard drive without using the installer (and adding a few lines to the registry).
Can anyone get either Commandos game to run completely under 2000?
I've tried running Commandos off the CD, and copying the files to my hard drive without using the installer (and adding a few lines to the registry). Both techniques result in a running game with the load and save game functions disabled.
I've also tried using Apcompat (like Setwin95 for NT4) off the 2000 CD with both the installer and application with no success.
I'm out of ideas. Help?!
System:
Celeron 400 o/c 500
Abit BM6 motherboard
128Mb SD100 RAM
Viper 550 TNT PCI/ latest Detonator drivers
Soundblaster Live / LiveWare 3

My solution was:
I installed it, but coulnΒ΄t run the game (wrong OS message). So I updated to version 1.1 (its the latest, I think)and Commandos worked without any problems.

I had no problem, just installing with the compatibility-tool, and it runs fine

OP
Maybe the US version is slightly different to the European one?
Anyway I found a different solution: I took it back to the shop and exchanged it for MDK2. Problem solved ;-)
