Creative 6x DVD
This is a discussion about Creative 6x DVD in the Windows Hardware category; I know this was here a while ago. . but still. Anyone know how to get the DVD 6x Encore working under 2k? - I downloaded the Hollywood Plus Drivers for the Dxr3 - and installed the latest Creative player software.

Anyone know how to get the DVD 6x Encore working under 2k? - I downloaded the Hollywood Plus Drivers for the Dxr3 - and installed the latest Creative player software.
It works ok - but the sound is stuttery as hell ;( - and if I close it down, it shudders to a halt and messes up.....
Any ideas? - Ive heard about DMA but I aint sure how to change it...its an Athlon 700 system on an Asus K7M mobo.

Hmm..
Okay..turn on DMA first (should be a guide in the forum I think - can't someone add this to the FAQ!!!).
Second..I discovered that in some situations I had trouble watching encrypted DVDs (The Matrix in particular) - sound would stutter and the program would hang. Here's how I fixed it:
- remove old driver
- install Real Magic + beta driver
- run the Creative NT4 driver setup to properly add registry entries (this won't overwrite the realmagic driver)
- install Creative DVD player
- watch the movie

Ahh - the only thing I'd missed was the NT4 drivers, which ones are those on the creative site ???
