Creative Audio PCI

This is a discussion about Creative Audio PCI in the Windows Hardware category; I have 2183 on an ASUS p5-99VM MB with on board audio using ES1373. Win 2k recognises the audio and loads the appropriate driver but the machine gets very slow, about 1/50th of normal and I get no sound software working although I can get sound from the CDROM.

I have 2183 on an ASUS p5-99VM MB with on board audio using ES1373. I can run no problems with the driver disabled but need sound to carry on with Win 2k. Any help would be realy appreciated.
