Creative Webcam II USB - Win2k
This is a discussion about Creative Webcam II USB - Win2k in the Windows Hardware category; Creative Labs have announced that there won't ever be a Win2k driver for the Webcam II. I presume no-one out there has written their own driver?? Regards Richard.

The cam (and the drivers) are OEM'd from a firm in England (the also sell to Pace and a few others) - you can get their name by checking the properties of the drivers.
The main problem is that the core USB driver for the cam is actually 16-bit, and they have no interest in re-writing it.
I would recommend either selling or giving away the CL cam and buying the Intel instead as it is natively supported...at least, that's what I did...

Thanks - I was aware that the camera & software were produced by VLSI Vision Ltd but they do not deal with end users.
From a posting today on one of the Creative labs newsgroups it looks like someone is in the process of writing a driver now anyway.
