The beta signup specifically said that the beta will NOT work under Win2k. The final version on the other hand should.
I thought the beta sign up only stated that it is not supported under Win2000 ...
yes, diablo II beta works fine under win2k. i personally don't have a copy.. but the people from www.firingsquad.com did and they are using win2k as their platform to "test" diablo II without any problems. and no, there's no 'workable' leaked version of diablo ii beta yet

i have seen one being played at a LAN party over the weekend..
dont know where it was obtained, but it was there, but i dont know the OS since i didnt ask, and win2k and win95 look too similar in desktop.

Thats great and all, but the beta doesn't support lan play, its bnet only... are you sure about this?
didnt say they were playing it over the LAN.
but they were trying it out...one guy had it on his harddrive, and of course soon everyone had it..its only the first "chapter" ( i guess thats what you call it).
looks pretty nice though,, a lot more above ground stuff to explore.
