direct cd
This is a discussion about direct cd in the Windows Hardware category; Quick question: How the flying f*&C do you get Direct CD to work under Windows 2000. I did a clean install of Easy CD Creator 4 and Direct CD is uninstalled. Any suggestions on how to go about installing it? Abit BE-6 Celeron 450, 128 MB RAM WD UDMA-66 8.

give it up on DirectCD NOT SUPPORT
Umm - I have Direct CD running on Win 2000.
Sorry, but I can't remember what I did - I'm sure it was following instructions from somewhere, and anyway I'm sure someone else here will remember

Hi,
As far as I can remember this question has been answered quite a few times before. Please always use the "search" button first.
In any case, DirectCD 3 (the one that comes with EasyCD 4) doesn't install under Win2k. There is a fix available though, but I haven't tried it.
DirectCD 2.xx generally works with Win2k. What I did was, I first installed DirectCD 2.5 and then installed the update from Adaptec. This way everything worked without any "fixes". Just remember to update your ASPI layer before installing DirectCD.

Remember, though, that installing 2.5d or any current iteration of DirectCD hoses hibernation and standby mode.
