Direct X 8.0
This is a discussion about Direct X 8.0 in the Legacy OS category; I'm asking cos I've been too busy to check up myself but I noticed something weird. . . . When I upgraded Win2000 to DX8 and I checked all the components, they all registered as Version 8, however. .

When I upgraded Win2000 to DX8 and I checked all the components, they all registered as Version 8, however..........
When I install it on Win98 or ME, Direct 3D and other files such as ddraw.vxd etc show as Version 7.
Does anyone still have DX7 installed and if they do can you leave my your EXACT Version numbers (Using DXDIAG etc) cos I didn't make a note of them earlier....

lord justkeep it at 7 because if you install 8 you will have to format your hard drive to get rid of it
