Directx 7 and 7a

This is a discussion about Directx 7 and 7a in the Windows Hardware category; Ok this has been driving me crazy. I didn't think it was possible to have directx 7a running in windows 2000. However, several people have said that their directx diag says they are running 7a. Mine only says 7.

Ok this has been driving me crazy. I didn't think it was possible to have directx 7a running in windows 2000. However, several people have said that their directx diag says they are running 7a. Mine only says 7. How is this possible? Am I running an old build? It says 2195.

7a only fixed a small specific joypad error found in an N64 emulator anyway.
