DirectX 7 workaround?

This is a discussion about DirectX 7 workaround? in the Windows Games category; Is there still no workaround for the DirectX problem associated with Games searching for DirectX 6? No way to make games like Heavy Gear 2 believe that 6x is installed not 7x?

Maybe try the direct x patch that sets the version number that's in the download section?
