This is a discussion about DirectX 8.0 in the Windows Games category; Ok, now Windows ME is out. . . any idea when MS is gonna release DirectX 8. 0 for the rest of their line (2k, 9x, etc)?? From what I've seen, its a hell of a lot better than 7. . . . .

ME comes with DirectX 7.1

because its still in beta.
DX 8 is still in the beta 2 stage. It WAS supposed to come out this summer but it seems that they had some problems or some shit and its not out yet. I assume it will be out by the end of Q4/2000, not sure though.
Comes with Whistler 2257
