DirectX 8.0 - missing inf file

This is a discussion about DirectX 8.0 - missing inf file in the Windows Software category; I tried to install directx 8. 0 and it says I am missing a required inf file. Can anyone help on this. Asus K7V mobo 160MB Ram Athlon 700 Elsa Gladiac GEForce2.

My install went fine.
 
I would suggest that you reinstall your video/sound card driver, and then redownload DX8 to make sure it wasn't a duff download.
 
You'll probably find it will then work properly.

Not sure what went wrong, but you can check if your download is corrupted quite easily.
 
Browse to where you downloaded DX80NTeng.exe, right click on it, Properties, open the Digital Signatures tab, click Details and after a little while it should say "The digital signature is OK."

Did you install the full or runtime ver. If you did the runtime then probably not all files were there. This is however just a guess.

I saw on the main page here that there was a fix for the missing inf file error if you were using a Voodoo card. Does anyone have a similar fix for GeForce2 cards?
