Disappearing Backgrounds?
This is a discussion about Disappearing Backgrounds? in the Windows Software category; Guys, I don't know what I did, but this is the weirdest probelm ever. I right click on the desktop, and select properties. Now usually the first tab would be to select the background. It is not there.
Guys,
I don't know what I did, but this is the weirdest probelm ever. I right click on the desktop, and select properties. Now usually the first tab would be to select the background. It is not there. The first one is screen saver, followed by appearance, web, effects and settings. Where the hell did my background properties go?
Cheers,
Steve

Seeing a reply got me all hot and bothered oh well. Yes indeed it is. Someone on IRC suggested some kind of secuirty setting not allowing people to change the background?

You could try this, it's a standard trick of network admins to keep the salespeople from putting nudey pics on their wallpaper:
Registry Settings:
Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
Value Name: NoDispBackgroundPage
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)
It most likely got disabled somehow - if the key isn't there, make it, and set it to enable.
