From what I understand, most DVD players don't even support NT fully, so drivers for the drives in 2k are very slow in development(and decoder cards are even worse).
On a kinda high note, most of the drives actually read cd's just dandy as generic atapi drives, meaning that you can at least RUN in the meantime.

Yes as fact you can run WinDVD on the Voodoo3
But you be must be useing the stock Voodoo3 Windows2000 drivers & update the INF by useing the newer
Voodoo 3 2000 INF for Windows 2000 or
Voodoo 3 3000 INF for Windows 2000
or ICD ver I did.
go to http://www.dvdutils.com/ & get the WinDVD 1.2.85 update.
all so make sure you install full aspi drivers.
WinDVD cay about no video overlay Hmm come to fine out without Drierct3D Acceleration it well not run.
Oh even the build in MS DVD Player work's to.
The banshee don't work had no buildin DVD Hardware Assist.
