EAX and A3D 2.0...

This is a discussion about EAX and A3D 2.0... in the Windows Hardware category; Am I right in assuming that while Windows 2000 Build 2195 supports the Sound Blaster Live and Aureal Vortex 2 cards that it is only basic support? I have heard that while the basic drivers work, they do not support DirectSound.

Thanks,

The native W2K drivers for SB Live DO support DirectSound, and any EAX that doesn't require additional local s/w support (ie Liveware).

Yeah...I actually noticed the same thing with the TNT2 drivers. Desktop was fine, but no OGL. (I completely forgot to try D3D...no reason to assume it would work either.) Also, the new .exe drivers that nVidia releases don't work with W2K...but you can always extract them and .inf install them (the exe is just some bastardized cabinet file).
