ok when i select a dial up connection using the path start->setting->network..->connection absolutely nothing happens the same if i go through the control panel. But if ie tries to dial it works fine until... u want to either disconnect or get status on the connection. if u say dissconect it says u cant and somthing about non plug and play protocols if u choose status nothing happens either. the lights dont flash and when it connects the connection speed doesn't appear in the baloon but the internet works perfectly

radu185 I presume you're talking about your modem not being present when you want to dial? Would your modem happen to be external and turned off when you start the system? If so, it's because 2k detects all connected devices at startup. either turn it on when you start up, or scan for hardware changes before you dial.
