explorer.exe crashes
This is a discussion about explorer.exe crashes in the Windows Software category; I'm starting to have fairly regular crashes with explorer. exe. Really pisses me off since I have to restart/logoff to get my system tray icons back. It seems to happen most when I open the Start button or when using ie.

One person recommended that I check the option in IE for opening windows in a new process. (Did that and it improved explorer.exe stability a bit)
FYI, Win2k has been running stable for almost half a year now.
Any recommendations?

Ctrl Alt Del => Task Manager => Applications => New Task => explorer.exe
Well at least you dont have to reboot it
Well at least you dont have to reboot it
or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC
that will bring up the task manager directly
ALT+F -> RETURN
then launch iexplore.
you'll see... with little habit that comes quite easy.
like "damn it crashes again" CTRL+SHIFT+ESC ALT+F RETURN and there it goes again.
