Full screen issue with Q3A & HL

I upgraded a few weeks ago to W2K and I am have problems with Q3A and Half-Life playing in full screen. It is like the setting is at 800x600 with the black border around it instead of the 1024x768. I have games like UT, Madden2K1, Earth2150, AOK, Crimson Skies & Links2001 that all work just fine as far as the full screen issue goes.
Also for some reason I am having a hard time getting Mechwarrior 4 to install. It will get as far as 95% or so and then W2K will reboot on me.
My specs:
P3-450 Intel SE440BX-2 w/128 MB RAM
17" Monitor w/1024x768 True 32 Bit settings
CL Annihilator Pro w/6.47 drivers
CL SB Live Value
All W2K updates
Any help will be appreciated.

check for irq conficts with your graphics card....(yeah something like that)
check DX 8 (MW 4 needs that badly)
install the newest nvidia detonator 7 drivers for full DX 8 compability...
