GeForce under Win2000
This is a discussion about GeForce under Win2000 in the Windows Hardware category; I'm desperately trying to get my ASUS 6600 Pure to run unter Win2K. System config: Athlon/750, 512 MB RAM, Abit KA7 Mainboard, Adaptec 29160N SCSI, Intel 100Mbit Ethernet The 4in1 4. 22 drivers as well as the AGP updated 4.

I installed the 5.22, 5.25, 5.30 Detonator2 drivers from NVIDIA; the ASUS drivers cause the system to hang during boot-up.
I'm at my wits' end, thus any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx...

Your system is similar to mine. I also have the KA7. When I installed my Annihilator 2, it work give me a blue screen on boot. Turned out to be a faulty memory chip.
Have you tried to disable the 4x AGP support in the BIOS and see if that works?

Nope, doesn't work.

oh BTW, this probably isn't a hardware problem with the card, since it worked great under NT4...

If you are running a Athlon system, you should have a MINIUM power supply of 250W. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything under 300W, then you are sure you have enough!

Thanks all, I got it working now.
"Standard PC" instead of "ACPI PC" in Device Manager is the key.

That's odd. I have a KA7 and CLAP2 and win2k would not boot unless I had ACPI enabled.
I have a duel P3 Xeon 550 with a Tyan Thunder X motherboard and a Hercules 3D Prophet II 64mb and when I use the 5.22 or 5.3 drivers, I blue screen as soon as I start a game.
