Geforcing the win2k

This is a discussion about Geforcing the win2k in the Windows Hardware category; ok. . . this is my problem. . . i have win2k installed and everything. . . now i install 3dmark 2000. . . and get shocked buy the score a freakin 2200marks !!! thats 1000 less then win98. . . then i try unreal tournament.

ok...this is my problem...i have win2k installed and everything...now i install 3dmark 2000...and get shocked buy the score a freakin 2200marks !!! thats 1000 less then win98...then i try unreal tournament...it's workin very choppy even at 640*480...while i could run it smoothly at 1024*786...i have tried all the drivers up to the 5.17...can some help me figure this problem out ?? and the fsaa is disabled...my system specs are..
celeron 400o\c 500
abit be6
128mb pc133 ram crucial
CL Geforce 256
ibm 22gxp 13.6gb harddrive..
mx300 sound card
and some other stuff...

Not the speed of RAM is of importance, the amount is...
 
In fact I had the same problem with UT. Using my Voodoo 2, the game run fine with "just" 128 MB RAM. Then I purchased a GeForce just to encounter some heavy swapping to my harddrive. Someone explained to me that 3DFX products require less RAM than NVidia products. However, after I upgraded to 256 MB RAM all the swapping was gone.
 
Oh, btw, if you manage to get it to work with the latest NVidia betas (5.17) use OpenGL with UT. It is quite faster than D3D. I only can get UT to work with OpenGL by going back to Detonator 5.14.
