Good sound card for Windows 2000?

This is a discussion about Good sound card for Windows 2000? in the Windows Hardware category; I currently have a Diamond MX300 on a Win98SE system. I use the Aureal 2048 drivers and all is well. However I have just purchased win2k, but as it's a student purchase it'll be 2-3 weeks before I get my hands on it.

I currently have a Diamond MX300 on a Win98SE system. I use the Aureal 2048 drivers and all is well. However I have just purchased win2k, but as it's a student purchase it'll be 2-3 weeks before I get my hands on it. I'd like to get my system ready for win2k, and have been thinking about ditching the MX300 in favour of something woth better win2k support (Aureal are out of business and only have beta drivers for win2k). I have videologic siroccos (the 2.1 originals) which are damn nice for music and stereo in games. I have some POS labtech speakers that I can hook up to the rear, but in practice I rarely bother these days. So what I would really like is a few suggestions for a sound card that'll perform nicely in win2k mostly for MP3s (3d audio isn't very important to me at the moment). Does anyone have any ideas?
