I'm searching for a soundcard to replace my sblive because of the lack of good driver support. Guillemot ( www.guillemot.com) is offering two products which might be interesting:
Maxi Sound Muse based on CMI-8738 (reference drivers available at http://www.cmedia.com.tw)
Maxi Sound Fortissimo based on YMF744 (reference drivers avialable at http://www.yamaha.com/lsi/index.htm)
Does anybody have any experience in using these cards in win2k smp systems?

Hey, did u ever get any feedback on this issue? I am considering doing the same after waiting several months for some driver solutions from Creative Labs...
Go with the Fortissimo. I have one, no problems with it. Works right out of the box without drivers in Win2k.

OP
I ended up buying a Guillemot Muse. It works, but I can't get it to use more than two speakers...
The fortissimo is great. i bought it as a replacement for my sb128 which had no drivers at all for win2k, my midi didn't work right. The fortissimo indeed works out of the box great card!
Wharever you do, don't buy a TERRATEC soundcard. I tried a DMXfire, and it went continuously BSOD.
