Half Life will only run in 16 bit color!
This is a discussion about Half Life will only run in 16 bit color! in the Windows Games category; I usually keep my desktop at 32 bit color. Just recently (I can't pinpoint when this started) half life pops up with a screen that says I need to switch to 16 bit color on the desktop in order for it to run.

Stupid "compatiblity patch" bah!
Anyway, there's a similar post on here, where it gives a place to download a registry file that takes care of the problem
