Halflife Win 2000

This is a discussion about Halflife Win 2000 in the Windows Games category; I run windows 2000 and a Stealth III 540 PCI I installed Halflife and attempted to use 800x600 & 640x480 in D3D mode. . However it's terribly choppy. Why is this? The drivers i'm using are the ones Win 2000 installed.

it could be your video drivers, check with the company to see if they support/have new drivers for win2k, the ones in win2k are not 100% with games.
im running with win2k installed drivers for my ati xpert 98 8mb agp card, half-life is smooth at 800x600.

Download new Windows 2000 drivers for the Savage 4 (generic but so what http://www.gainward.com.tw/driver/83015w2k.zip
I'll warn you now, don't try to use Direct3D. I'm not sure if it's fully functional yet because it just restarts my computer but this driver set DOES come with an OpenGL driver that I've tested with Half-Life.... runs good but it's not fully optimized yet. (driver dated 1/14/2000)
