Help, I lost my DVD
This is a discussion about Help, I lost my DVD in the Windows Hardware category; I have a Pioneer 104s DVD. I know if worked because I used it to install Win2k! I also tested a dvd and it played fine. However, now, after I insert a disc (any disc, data, audio, or dvd) it spins up, the light comes on for a sec then goes off.
I have a Pioneer 104s DVD. I know if worked because I used it to install Win2k! I also tested a dvd and it played fine. However, now, after I insert a disc (any disc, data, audio, or dvd) it spins up, the light comes on for a sec then goes off. If I try to look at it in explorer it says insert disc. The drive still works fine in win98 so I don't think it's a hardware problem. I tried to remove it from device manager an let win2k find it on reboot, but that didn't help. Any ideas/suggestions?
