Alright here goes. I currently run Windows2000 Pro and with my TNT2U I can't use Direct3D. The game I play all of the time is Dirt Track Racing by Ratbag. At first I said no biggy I'll wait for new drivers, but as we all know that didn't help. Then I decided to try a glide wrapper but that gave me the following error, "Wrong glide version?". This got me thinking maybe if I broke out the trusty old Voodoo2 then glide would work. Well as you know 3dfx sucks and only puts out a hacked NT4 driver....unless you go for beta multimonitor crap. At any rate they work in Single Player great. But when I try to go to Multiplayer though an IP or even my own server the computer completely locks up. I got to thinking the reason was because it has a real time chat in multiplayer. I don't know if this is it or not.
If anyone can figure this out you would be a savior. Right now I have to play the game in Software ("Atari") mode. Although on my system it looks ok and runs fast but the graphics are obviously poor.

I did have an idea though that maybe if someone could hack a glide2x driver so it'll work with my TNT2U. I don't know if this is possible but I thought I'd bring it up. I just want the game to work in D3D or Glide so I don't have to look at pixelation anymore.

TIA,

The Voodoo2 "kludgepack" is not from 3DFX - is was put together by Anthony Toaste of this forum...and it works great if you follow the instructions.

The W2K native drivers don't support either D3D or OpenGL - so you need to download later versions from NVIDIA.

Also, there is a known issue with Athalon mobos and AGP - get the latest patch...

I'm not going to answer any more until you have to courtesy to at least actually quote the error message...
